Exact and numerical solutions of linear and non-linear systems of fractional partial differential equations
The present study introduces a new technique of homotopy perturbation method for the solution of systems of fractional partial differential equations. The proposed scheme is based on Laplace transform and new homotopy perturbation methods. The fractional derivatives are considered in Caputo sense. To illustrate the ability and reliability of the method some examples are provided. The results ob...
متن کاملExact solutions to a class of stochastic generalized assignment problems
This paper deals with a stochastic Generalized Assignment Problem with recourse. Only a random subset of the given set of jobs will require to be actually processed. An assignment of each job to an agent is decided a priori, and once the demands are known, reassignments can be performed if there are overloaded agents. We construct a convex approximation of the objective function that is sharp a...
متن کاملStochastic Models of Chaotic Systems
Nonlinear dynamical systems, although strictly deterministic, often exhibit chaotic . behavior which appears to be random. The determination of the probabilistic prop ertics of such systems is, in general, an open problem. Closure approximations for moment expansion methods have been unsatisfactory. More successful has been approximation on the dynamics level by the use of linear stochastic mod...
متن کاملFokker-Planck perspective on stochastic delay systems: exact solutions and data analysis of biological systems.
Stochastic delay systems with additive noise are examined from the perspective of Fokker-Planck equations. For a linear system, the exact stationary probability density is derived by means of a delay Fokker-Planck equation. We show how to determine the delay equation of the linear system from experimental data, and corroborate a fundamental result previously obtained by Küchler and Mensch. We a...
متن کاملExact statistics of chaotic dynamical systems.
We present an inverse method to construct large classes of chaotic invariant sets together with their exact statistics. The associated dynamical systems are characterized by a probability distribution and a two-form. While our emphasis is on classical systems, we briefly speculate about possible applications to quantum field theory, in the context of generalizations of stochastic quantization.
